My teenage daughter and I did a glass etching workshop at Glassworks, and it was absolutely a highlight of our trip to Yellowknife. I am not a crafty person, and frankly didn't think I would enjoy it much, or be able to complete anything worth using. We were blown away - the workshop is a delightful, cozy makerspace, and our... We really enjoyed the workshop. The instructor was very helpful and even assisted my disabled husband to make a special drinking glass. Very kind guy. It's surprisingly easy to make unique souvenirs here. Tip: Register in advance. We tried to go back for a second session of studio time but were disappointed because it was sold out.

I've been to this place a couple times to do the two hour glass works workshop. Once was with my Mom and the other was with friends who had their 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter with them. We had a blast on boat occasions. They show you how they cut glass bottles and how they file... More

This place is a great workers co-operative that takes the Old Town way of life seriously and is a great example of what it means to recycle. Everyone is always very friendly to assist in the workshops and make sure that you have a great piece of art you can be proud of to take home.

Great local Recycler, unique Souvenirs and experience if you book a class. Great way to spend an afternoon with the family or girls. Many northern artists do sell their products here. Robbie Craigs coffee mugs are beautiful, as well as his scarves and prints. Small pieces of jewellery and christmas ornaments are always available made by northern crafters. We have... More

This is not a usual experience. We stopped in just to have a look around. Cute, quaint building. A bit hidden, but nothing in Yellowknife is hard to find. Displays were great and we signed up for a tour and class. Staff was excellent at explaining the process. Many of the tools used were recreations of old item. For example... More

It took me years to go here even though it's in my hometown, I always thought it was another touristy rip off place, but the complete opposite. It was surprisingly fun and really worth the money when you consider the glasses you get to take home. Make sure you sign up for the glass etching class (that's what I'm talking... More

Me and a friend did a wonferful workshop! The staff was extremely friendly and the workshop was a lot of fun. It is a very nice little workshop and the products you can choose from are pretty cool. I loved it, thank you all so much!
