Old Town is about a 20 minute walk from downtown. There are shops, restaurants and tourist activities. This is the place to be to buy fresh fish from the Commercial Fishermen Dock. Worth the time to walk around. And if you do not feel like...More

Old Town is interesting to see. Weaver & Devore has high quality winter clothing inventories and lots of unique general merchandise. Bullock’s has good fish, poor service and is very expensive. They seem to consider the poor service as “Old Town charm”. For their prices,...More

Check out the shops and look at the old mixed with the new. Nice views of the lake too. Parking can be a challenge.

I know I am a tourist but I feel the shops there are only for sales and not letting you absorb the culture and history. But it was nice and in some cases novel. Perhaps if I had spent longer there or if more places...More

Mix of original & modernist architectures, interesting businesses. We especially enjoyed Gallery of the Midnight Sun, Bullock's Bistro, Weaver & Devore (an original outfitter & general store in a quonset hut). Don't miss the small trail, just below Pilot Monument) with signs telling the history.
