Actually we enjoyed the dinner and the experience at the campsite very much. However, the tour guide - Nathalie was extremely unprofessional. Upon her arrival at around 11pm, she escorted the group to Buffalo Hill. Then she spent almost rest of her time to chitchat with the couple, sharing her experience of working holiday in Canada, instead of keep checking... More

Despite the language challenges when booking the dog sled ride we had a really good time. We took our own food as we were not sure if food was available. Definitely book to ride and drive the sled (Dog Sled Combo).

Aurora Village takes away all the stress of planning an aurora viewing. They have an excellent setup and bus picks you and and drops you off at your hotel.

It is always pot luck with weather if you see an Aurora and although we had a clear sky we also had a full moon. That meant even though Aurora was out it just looked like white fluffy cloud to the eye. Only looked green on photographs unfortunately. Check weather before your visit and don't go during full moon. Tepees... More

This is a mass bus tour to a big site out on the lake where they have heated tipis. If you don't mind being with a million other people, this is a good option, as it is a lovely spot to see the aurora. However its a bit of a cattle call with so many people and our guide insisted... More

Pro: - The teepee(camp) is warm and hot drinks are provided - Nice location to view the aurora if you want to stay warm - Dogsledding is lots of fun Cons: - Definitely overpriced. You are better off booking your own hotel and find other cheaper packages with more flexbility. - Seems like staffs need more training, lots of effort... More

This was my second time taking this tour. The first time, I didn't know what to expect so I didn't come prepared, but was still dressed warm. The lights weren't very good that night. The tour guide wasn't all that informative with questions when we asked them. The second time I came prepared with money, etc. The tour guide was... More

I have noticed that jackets rented for Chinese people are shabby dirty old, whereas for Japanese customers are new, clean. Why we paid same price but were treated differently? That's unfair! When comes to aurora view, is also below my expectations. Tipi were crowded, cold.

Aurora Village is a must in Yellowknife. They are a big operation but it did not feel crowded and the place is beautiful. Totally worth it. Things I liked: The location, the tepees, the aurora with the tepees, they rent a tripod, they show you what settings to use for the particular night you are there, the guides are very... More

We joined the aurora village for the hotel and aurora village for three nights. I would say it is a good choice to join the aurora village. They are actually a professional team and the aurora village is big. Everyday you can see tons of people being picked up at hotels and their guides are pretty professional too. The good... More
