This is the oldest Presbyterian Church in Canada dating back to 1767. It does not have stain glass windows or a cathedral ceiling or velvet cushens on the pews. It does however exemplifies the simplicity of the early of the earliy churches of the 1700s.
This is still an active congregaion however, now a church affiliated with the United Church of Canada. Only wish we could have been there to attend worship on Sunday.

I have visited this church twice and taken friends with me. It is apparent that it is lovingly cared for by friends and faithful followers.

One of the earliest church buildings in Nova Scotia. An excellent example of early Presbyterian Church architecture, which had been served by Covenanter ministers for most of the 19th Century.

There are very few active churches like this any more.
Its a unique environment with very uncomfortable pews to remind you that this is a Scottish Presbyterian space and therefor not to be overly enjoyed!

We made just a 15 minute stop at this church but enjoyed seeing its interior and also wandering the graveyard a bit. It was built in the New England meetinghouse style.

This is a beautiful church in a rural setting. It is the oldest Presbyterian Church in Canada.

Take time to read the notices posted in various locations in the church and you will realize that this is still an active congregation.

Beautiful historic church close to the Grande Pre Historic Site. Most amazing time to visit is Christmas Eve. They also have special cultural events during the spring, summer and fall seasons.

We came across this church by chance and were so glad we stopped in. The history of the Covenanters is fascinating and there is written history available to take away. The building has been preserved and is in excellent condition. A very peaceful and thoughtful stop on our tour of the Valley.
