"JIM" is an excellent tour guide

Stopped in to visit the museum as when I was at CFB Shearwater it was a Chapel - excellent display of Naval Avaition history. Well worth the visit.

A small, but informative museum, located just outside the Shearwater base. You can see and touch different exhibits dating back to Naval Air days.

It is fairly small, but well laid out and the additional interesting point is that it is at the entrance of the military base. The people that you meet, may be actual pilots. You may see search and helicopters and planes coming and going... Once a year it is home to the air show...

The history of Canadian Military Aviation at the Shearwater base is well told by the wonderful exhibits and the vintage aircraft on display. The magnificent art gallery with numerous original paintings of aviation art features Canadian artists. Admission is FREE!

This is just an excellent little museum that highlights how great Canada's military was in the 50s and 60s when we actually had a formidable military. Some really interesting displays and a very nice balance between old (aircraft) and new (computer-generated overviews of the different aircraft). Very well done! BZ!

This museum was created by the CNAG members, former naval air personnel and spouses. Fascinating look at some service history.

This is an excellent example of a specialist aviation museum run by people who both know about their subject and care about it. It deserves to be better known.

Good place for aviation fans to spend an hour or two. Pretty good history of Cdn. aviation. Good place to see some vintage aircraft, inlcuding the "Swordfish" torpedo bomber with its' sophisticated bomb site - a hole in the floor. This is a model of the British plane that damaged the German battleship "Bismarck." The damaged rudder only allowed it... More
