Great selection of vendors from the maritimes ranging from food, to souvenirs, to liquor. This place is crazy busy on Saturdays but not so much on Sunday morning, so plan to elbow through crowds if you come on a Saturday. Many of the vendors are not open on Sunday, so it might be best to go on another day if... More

Just being there is fun. You see and hear a lot going on in the market hall. It´s a small market, but very well balanced: there is a little of everything. international food, music, handcrafted items, local farmers´s produce, and specialized products. It´s not the kind of market where you would go every weekend to buy your food (that would... More

we always make it a point to drop by this market when in Halifax. you can pick up everything you need for dinner, including wines made in Nova Scotia. we bought flowers, perogies ( cooked on the spot ), veggies, lavender lotion, home baked goodies and veggies....many products and services ! my daughter always checks out a pottery vendor on... This is a very interesting and vibrant market down by the harbour and while cruise ship crew and passengers were very obvious so were the locals just doing their shopping. There is a great variety of food of all ethnic varieties as well as local specialty food and drinks. The cafes too are varied and interesting.

As visitors to Halifax, we wandered down to the market to see what is was all about. I have elected to rate this as if I lived in the area. If I rated as a short term visitor, it doesn't offer anything that I really could use. Bottom line - it's mostly a farmer's market. If you live in the... More

Make sure that you go to both Piers so that you get to take in the full market. The first is a small Farmers market with the second one at Pier 22 a larger one that has a lot more shopping with many of the larger stores in town having space here.

We we went on a Sunday, probably best on a Saturday, didn't seem like all vendors were there,it was still ok but based on reviews seemed like only 50% of the place were opened other spaces were empty.Still worth a walk around for assorted food and crafts.

A collection of stalls trying to ply their wares to the numerous ship passengers. Odd stalls of interest but not what you might expect or hope for from a 'market'. There are some food stalls if you are desperate for food but none looked too appetising.
