For 2.25, you get an amazing view of Halifax. Highly recommend taking the Woodside ferry and having lunch at John's Lunch.

Taking the Halifax Harbour Ferry from Dartmouth to Halifax is a great way to go to concerts or events that are being held in Downtown Halifax. If you reside in Dartmouth but work in Downtown Halifax you can take the Ferry and don't have to worry about parking your vehicle or paying those hefty parking fees. It's also a great... More

I took the ferry from Halifax over to Dartmouth. They run very frequently and the cost is only $3 and that's good for a return trip. I didn't even go ashore, just rode there and back.

For the price of a cheap ferry ticket, you can experience both the Halifax and Dartmouth sides of the harbor. It's a really nice way to see the view from the ocean and each side has some great shops and pubs when you moor. Highly recommend taking this in while in the city!!

Traveling on the ferry is straight forward and easy. Times are regular and always on time. Plenty of seating. Just make sure you have the right change

What a great way to see the city skyline from the water travelling on the Ferry between Halifax and Dartmouth. This Ferry system has been in operation for decades, long before we had bridges over our beautiful harbor. In fact the early ferries use to take passengers, horse and wagons and later automobiles, Today it is passengers only, however they... More

What a great deal! $2.50 with a transfer got us to Dartmouth and back. We took one ferry to Woodside and then walked 3 km to other ferry and came back. Fresh air and a good brisk walk. Thumbs up!

I really enjoyed this part! The wind blowing in your hair as you see sail boats passing by and the birds happy, up above! They treat you very well and it's a wonderful way of getting over to Halifax boardwalk and back again...Always ask when the last ferry leaves on either side or you could be stuck over there! Lol

Cross the Halifax Harbour, enjoy being on the water, nice ocean breeze. On arriving in Dartmouth take in one of the very best Fish and chips joints in Nova Scotia in the Aldernay Market area... a 2 min walk from getting off the ferry. Best Croissants in the world at Two if by Sea (a 5 min walk)... enjoy the... More

A very nice experience for both adults and children of any ages. Many locals use this ferry to get back and forth to work every day, from Dartmouth to Halifax, or vice versa, but if you're in the area it's also an inexpensive touristy thing to do.
