We made a special trip to see this attraction and it was the biggest waste of money for any attraction that we saw in our two week tour of the East .It had no old artifacts to look at.All it had was cardboard signs with some writing on them.Even my wife who is a history nut said it was a... More

A perfect spot to research your family tree or just looking up historical facts. The staff are friendly and helpfull and the information is plentiful. A tour of the old house is a walk in the past. Extremely informative and the attention to detail is great. Hint- i was also there in December, and talk about a neat old world... More

Did not go into the museum part but did stop in to the adjacent archives building to do some research on the MacKenzie ancestry. The people in the arcives couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and went out of their way to help us find material

Was recommend to come here a few weeks back from this lady at the Hector. The house is stunning from the outside, and even better on the inside. The tour guide took us around and told us about the stuff inside. Panels and rooms were loaded with Scottish immigration history and info about the town. There's a beautiful period clock... More

Nice little house but nothing to it. Wasn't even worth the modest $5 entrance fee. There was virtually no furniture and appliances. And the few things that were there weren't original to Dr. McCulloch. For example, they had a top hat on display because he liked to wear top hats but but wasn't even one of his top hats. This... The Doctor who settled here some 200 years ago was quite a Scholar and was impressed with Him starting Public Education here in the province. The Home is beautifully restored and so much to see.

We went to research shipping information and although the detail we were seeking wasn't available, the files they did have were very comprehensive. Anyone seeking historical information would find this a well worthwhile visit.

If you have time to kill, then by all means stop, There are no furnishings, just has info like a museum. The history of the man is interesting, but don't go expecting period furniture.

Great story line and thoroughly enjoyed the architecture and ideas for retaining antiques and old memorabilia.
