Left Kolkata on Nov 23rd for NJP via Darjeeling Mail. Reached NJP on Nov 24th. Took an auto and went to Siliguri. From there boarded a state bus for Falakata. From Falakata went to Jaldapara National Park, Salkumar Gate. Though Madarihat is very popular with many resorts and lodges but I went to Salkumar gate which is newly opened with... More

Though I've visited only a part of Dooars I.e. Gorumara and Chapramari but that is enough to have an idea of its mesmerizing beauty. Dooars is another name for serenity and tranquility. And a 360 degree greenery is something for which you will be attracted to Dooars again and again at all times of the year.

I just love to send holidays in Dooars. All Jungles are very adventurous from Buxa to Lataguri. It is a combination of river, forest & tea estates.

Next day we visited a lot of places like Bindu, samsing, neora river, kalimpong, Bhutan border, murti river. It was a whole day outing. Bindu dam is a must visit place. A high security area... More

Staying at the FRHs at Nemati, Hatipota, Raimatang or Raidak would surely give you an exposure of the rich biodiversity of the sub-Himalayan forests of Bengal. The region is criss-crossed by a number of mighty rivers like Tista, Torsa, Kaljani, Raidak, Jaldhaka, Sankosh etc and make the entire region extremely fertile and productive. Get down at New Cooch Behar or... More
