Eldon House is the oldest residence in London, Ontario and has been preserved for the public's viewing pleasure. I visited on a field trip with my daughter's class and we were treated to a very knowledgeable guide, who brought the past alive for the kids. My daughter wants to know when we can go back!

Eldon House is a wonderful example of a home of a family of standing with money, that loved to travel. Built in 1835 and lived In by 4 generations, it was eventually donated to the city...land, buildings and contents. Loved that the contents all belonged to the family, instead of being collected by the curator to represent the time of... More

Went to Eldon house yesterday for a self guided tour and instantly felt transported back in time. The house is well maintained and the staff on duty was very helpful and knowledgeable. There are plenty of souvenirs a and the furnishings plus the knick-knacks from the last century is a sight to see. I heard that the guided tour is... More

This is a beautiful century old home in downtown London. The grounds are gorgeous and the inside is decorated in period wallpaper and draperies. The furniture is original and depicts a more elegant time.

We were in awe of the size of this house, and the luxury its occupants lived in! Servants anyone? (Yes, they treated them well.) Butler's pantry? Check. It's age, although rather a young building in the whole scheme of the world, is impressive, and it's especially intriguing to be able to see the actual furnishings that the family used. This... This Harris home gave me a true sense of the past, maybe ghosts still there lol. I felt like I lived at that time. The tours are awesome, and free, or given by donation. A must to see!!

We've toured many historic homes, but very few come with original furnishings that were owned by the family. Eldon House is unique in that regard and as such offers a true glimpse into the past lives of the Harris family. We were also fortunate to meet Nikkie. She is passionate about Eldon House and was so gracious to answer any... More

The house is so interesting to walk through. The staff are very knowledgeable and can walk you through and give you a tour. The contents of the house are well preserved. It is a donation only to get in which is nice. Definitely a must see!
