Visited here over the Family Day weekend. Took the 2km Trillium Trail. Very easy trail to follow and very accessible (flat and well marked). Interesting totem poles/carved sculptures along the path. Very impressive for a free, volunteer/donation based facility. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location for families. Almost everything is free. Lots of land. Lots of learning stations for the kids. Clean and back to basic. Always have a fun Easter Egg Hunt and Halloween / thanksgiving events.

Plenty to do. Create totem poles abound. Structures to explore. Wooden house and bridges. Educational if you stop to read the signs or sign up for a class or event. Or just fun to walk through. Go during warmer weather unless you are a winter bunny.

The first time I went to Heartland Forest with my husband I had to take my scooter. The trails were well groomed and I could use scooter without any difficulty. These trails are perfect for people in wheelchairs as well. There are benches throughout as well. The statues and learning centers make it an interesting outing. The second time, I... More

I had never heard of Heartland Forest. We found the trail that led into the forest. On our trek there were a lot of wooden statues, attractive to children like a frog and other imaginations. There is a pavilion where kids can learn all about nature. There are numerous topics, like Aliens of Niagara (Invasive plants and insects), the web... More

We walked the trail and saw sunning turtles and spotted many different kinds of frogs. The path is well groomed so good for families with little ones who aren't as steady on their feet. It started to rain so we didn't try the mini putt and playground. I like the idea of a free park. It's kind of the owners... More
