We have attended many plays over the years at the Festival Theatre. It makes a great play even more enjoyable and the not so good plays bearable. Great for musical and the acoustics are such that you can the actor's without effort. You feel you have been to the theatre.

We had booked tickets to see a play during June. Once we entered, I thought I entered a royal castle. Everything was so beautiful and elegant as well. We were greeted as if we were upper class, however, we were not dressed like them. Our seats were quite comfortable and we were able to see clearly what happened on the... More

The Shaw Festival Theatre is a beautiful venue for the 10+ plays put on there each summer as well as for the theatre & musical productions put on there in the off season. It has a beautiful patio where you can have a drink before the show or at intermission with a fine snack bar for light food. One of... More

First time in Niagara-On-The-Lake...loved the hotel, boutique looking but rooms are very modern! Will be back for the summer time, can't even imagine how great that experience will be.

We go annually to see plays at the Shaw Festival at Niagara on the Lake as part of a theatre trip to the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario, with old friends who meet us here each year. This is simply a fun place to see the best in theatre, buy some wines at any of a number of fine wineries,... More

Saw Engaged in October 2016 at the Royal George. Acting was wonderful. Seats are narrow and tight. We bought tickets in the second row (last minute decision). Wouldn't recommend being quite so close (a little unsettling watching actors spittle fly out). Very good performance but prefer the grandeur of Stratford more.

In mid-September 2016, we attended three theatre performances at the Shaw Festival. The plays were actually held in two different theaters , but both theaters have comfortable seating and are relatively small so there are no major sight and sound problems. The name is a bit of a misnomer. There are throughout the season performances of a Bernard Shaw play... More

So many visitors to Niagara on the Lake come because it is known as the Prettiest Town in Canada but they forget about the Famous Shaw Festival Theatre with it live performances that are extrodinary. Take a back stage tour for $10.00 what a deal. All the costumes are made here in this little town of only 15,000 people. Compare... More

We went to see a pair of plays - Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland - at this theatre and thoroughly enjoyed both presentations. We sat in front row balcony seats for both plays and had a great view. The productions were well done with fantastic sets and excellent interpretations of both stories. Shaw Festival Theatre is on the edge... More
