NOTL is a beautiful spot at the confluence of the Niagara River and Lake Ontario. There are four theaters running, with plays and musicals in rotating repertory. Some of the productions are excellent, some merely good. The theater sight lines are good, snacks, drinks and little meals available though not all are handicapped accessible.

We saw Farmer's Revolt play. It is unlike other Shaw plays in that the content is very Canadian. It is rather serious in that it's based on historical facts and is also political. It was played at the Court House Theatre which is an intimate theatre and all seats are good snd close to the stage. Free parking after 8... More

I have been seeing plays at the Shaw Festival for 15 years, and the 7 1/2 hour drive is more than worth it. This year's choice was Dancing at Lughnasa, a play that I had seen once many years ago. The Shaw's production was superb. From the set to the timing to the actors, everything worked so well. I'll be... More

Excellent is the word to describe this theatre showing the fantastically brilliant "Me and My Girl". A heart-warming enchanting tale of an earl & a poor girl. Good production & mesmerising tap-dancing.made for a great afternoon of a good 2 1/2 hours. The hall itself is favullous. Well worth the trouble of going there from Toronto

Our Lively Arts group made the trek down to Niagara-on-the-Lake to see "Me and My Girl". Driving there from Toronto it was raining, which didn't put me in the best mood; but once we got into the festival theatre and heard all that toe tapping music I knew it was worth the effort. The performance got a standing ovation, which... More

Every cast member did their part to make this musical a winner. The tap dancing was very enjoyable and the " over the top " carrying on fitted the musical perfectly. I think the audience would have enjoyed the chance to "do the Lambeth Walk" with the cast. For a delightfully entertaining evening, make sure you see Me and My... More

Had a terrific afternoon at the Shaw Festival seeing "The Madness of King George". A beautiful production that was accessible and well staged. Tremendous leads and cast. Sit on stage if you can!

A little vaudeville, a little slapstick comedy, but all wonderful and entertaining. This musical shows it's age, but all for the better. I thoroughly enjoyed this production and the wonderful cast who performed it. It's all fun and engaging from start to finish. This is a hit that's worth the drive from Toronto or wherever. It's nice to see the... More
