Excellent for families to learn about our history and the war of 1812. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, eager to explain in an easy and interesting way. Site is in good shape, nice parking area and gift shop. Also, free entry during 2017 Discovery pass.

The day of our tour it was pouring down rain. The tour guide was very personable and they kept the whole thing amusing. There was still plenty to see, even in the rain.

This is a fun way to learn the history of the war of 1812. The staff was very knowledgeable and were very hands on showing us how solders and others lived at the fort in 1812. The Fire Power demonstration was very cool with solders firing their muskets and canons. The musket demonstration from Calvin was very good with some... More

This place was very interesting. The staff are all dressed in period costume and are very knowledgeable when it comes to the battles and circumstances that took place in the area. There are musket firing demonstrations, musicians who explain the types of instruments played in the era and why as well as the opportunity to dress as a soldier and... More

We took advantage of the free admission for Canada's 150th Birthday. Was a very informative historic experience! Staff were dressed up and sharing stories from 200 years ago.

We stopped here after a visit to the wineries and loved it! Since it's the 150th year of Canada, the site is free, although it would be well worth the money to walk through. The staff is really informative and friendly. We had the pleasure of watching a musket demonstration given by Jared and he was great! We also found... More

A great place to learn about Canada's history---and there is free admission this year for Canada's 150th birthday. Lots to see in and out of the buildings and a demonstration of musket firing. Well worth your time to stop and visit.

Great restored Fort. War of 1812 Reinactors give historical demonstrations like musket firing. Andy did a great job combining humor with teaching History. Will definitely bring the kids back. Huge area for blowing of steam and lots of things to see. Free admission.

Arrived early and found that there were only a handful of people witnessing the flag parade and salute by soldiers in period costume. Following that there were quite a few demonstrations of musket fire and period bread baking. Even when we left after spending a good few hours wandering around all the buildings and exhibits the numbers were still low... More

Knowledgeable and helpful guides, interesting exhibits, and active demonstrations. As someone from the US it is good to hear about battles from the Canadian perspective. We have been to the fort several times in all four seasons and we learn something new each time. My daughter loves visiting the fort.
