Loved the works of the Renaissance artists and more recent painters, such as the Group of 7. Beautiful, stunning, nicely contextualized by the accompanying written text. What a treat! Spacious galleries, well laid out, in close proximity to washrooms. Benches provide the viewer with an opportunity to sit down, relax tired feet, and contemplate the magic of the surrounding art.... I came at a bad time, as many of the exhibits were being changed out. Still it was beautiful. I particularly loved the European Art section. I was not a fan of some of the contemporary art, but to each their own - art is, after all, subjective.

Moshe Safdie's building reflects all of the sights around it, blending in with the architecture of Parliament Hill and the nearby Ottawa cathedral perfectly. The gallery holds priceless treasures of Canadian and International art. A visit to the gallery could easily take a whole day and more if you love art as much as I do. Do not miss it!

This is a beautiful gallery, the architecture and the works of art are to be enjoyed. Make sure to give it a lot of time as there is a lot to see. I would go rain or shine.

While this museum has great installations and some very interesting works of arts, it's more interesting for the building itself

Not having heard of the First Nation Group of Seven I was intrigued to see Alex Janvier's work and read of his struggles as a youth. He survived to produce some amazing artwork
