Very Interesting

I found this place very interesting. I would have liked to see more of the workers at work but that was not possible. Lovely gift shop and clean washrooms.

This place was so busy, there were lots of different beautiful coins, it was so hard to really pick one, you feel like you want to get them all. This is really great place for everyone.

Located near the National Gallery and the Cathedral, the mint is well signposted. Entry was $4.50 being a weekend (I think it may be more expensive during the week when the mint is actually in operation). The tour starts and finishes in the gift shop. It's about 30 minutes, showing you how the gold and silver coins are made. Our... More

Tour is about 30 minutes and provides a high level look into the making of gold and silver coins and the history of Canadian currency. I found the tour a little expensive for the experiences provided. We enjoyed the store and would definitely recommend a trip to the store to touch the gold bar and shop for coins. We were... More

For the first time visitor, a stop at the Royal Canadian Mint is a must see activity. Watch how gold and silver coins are made, Learn the history behind the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Para-Olympic medals. Did you know the Royal Canadian Mint produces coins for other countries? Take the tour, you won't be disappointed. It's inexpensive, educational and fun,... More

When my girlfriend and I were in Ottawa this past month, we were interested in seeing the Royal Canadian Mint. We saved it for a rainy day and went on a Friday. Since it was a weekday, I assumed it to not be that busy, but low and behold, it was pretty packed. However, this was not an issue as... More

This facility is very close to many other desirable attractions in Ottawa, such as the Parliament Buildings, Chateau Laurier, National Art Gallery, and the nearby Byward Market. If we had our time back, we would have informed ourselves of how to visit - we realized that visits were by tour only, and arriving at 3:00 pm on a Sunday we... More

While offcourse you get to know how mints work and all these coins clinking in your pocket are manufactured, the best part of this place the retail store which sells specially minted commemorative coins! I am sure anyone having slightest interest in coins would love the place but so would people looking for a nice souvenir to display on their... More

This was a lot of fun and very interesting, even out teenagers thought so, our tour guide was amazing, knowledgeable, easy to understand and a great sense of humour. We would definitely recommend this.
