Free tours offered throughout the week and possibly on the weekend. If you have time I would recommend the tour or attending the sessions offered when the court hearing is on.

Tour was offered in English and French. Every visitor must go thru security. If 2 flags are up front, the Supreme Court is in session. If not, they are not in session. The tour takes you thru the main Supreme Court room and the Federal Appeals court court room. Tour lasts about 30 min.

We went there on a field trip with grade 6 students, the tour lasted 30 minutes and overview a bit of everything. I would have liked something a little longer

It is likely that few people bother to see the Supreme Court of Canada as its importance is not easily recognized. It is within this court that decisions are made impacting the lives of all Canadians. The entry is sombre and in keeping with the importance of being here and the Court itself is imposing.

A short, free tour can be done at the Supreme Court. Bilingual guides all very friendly. Fascinating architecture. Has rest rooms and interesting facts on the Canadian legal system.

Both English and French tours provided and we took advantage of one and found it interesting and worth the time to go. Loved the history talked about and it made the law and history classes taken in school come alive. Would recommend stopping in if you have time while in Ottawa.

When my girlfriend and I were planning our trip to Ottawa, touring the Supreme Court of Canada was one of the first things on our list. The English tours happen on every hour (with the exception of 12:00pm) while the French tours are on the half hour every day from 9am-5pm. It was also nice that this tour did not... More

A short tour and slide show is about all you get. A wasted trip. You are better off going to 161 Elgin street, and watching a trial.

This is the highest court of the land and you can feel the importance of this institutition from the building. The court has regular tours, but to experience it fully, try to come during a sitting of the court. There is a public gallery although it may be hard to get in for very popular cases. So you would have... More

Checked out the courthouse during Doors Open so we didn't have to pay. Thus it was busy but it was really cool to go inside the courtrooms. Very beautiful building. The view behind the courthouse is very nice as well.
