Walking through this place is a tree lovers dream. Trees from all over the world. If yo're like me it gives you ideas about what to buy for your yard. Plus its a great place to walk the dogs.

This is my favourite place in all of Ottawa. It's a wonderful place year round - in the spring and summer it's beautiful for picnics, walking, reading a book, playing sports, people watching, taking pictures (there's always wedding pictures being taken here!). Lots of beautiful...More

Take the bike path, cross the locks, find a shady spot near Dow's Lake, and enjoy a picnic. Play hide and go seek with the kids. Rent a paddle boat at the Pavillion. Show the family the farm animals. Enjoy this idyllic location.

I have been here many times. I love to walk among the trees. It is particularly spectacular when all the apple blossoms are in bloom. It is educational and relaxing. Dogs are welcome and often seen here. Nothing for kids though and there is traffic...More

This is a beautiful, free place to spend a quiet day with family, friends, or on your own. There are hundreds of trees, a rock garden, water (the canal, a pond), bridges, groomed paths. You can walk your dogs, or play with your children here....More

One of our favorite places to take photos and enjoy the outdoors any season of the year. Large gardens, with many varieties of flowers and plants for every season.

You can spend hours walking along river and small forest. Rent kayak, climb trees, picnic under the trees. Peaceful and under-rated!

It is a shame that the gardens have fallen into the condition that they have. This is a remarkable setting but they are obviously short-handed. The Japanese beetles have taken over the flower beds and the result is a mess!

A superbly landscaped park, great for romantic or family picnics, bring a camera as there are picturesque settings everywhere.

Anyone know if there are any public washrooms in the Arboretum? And if so, where they are located?

Public restrooms are located in one of the office buildings in the parking lot (the one furthest south, if I recall). I'm not sure of the hours but on a Sunday in May there were only open until 4:00 p.m.
