I used to live in the Glebe, and went to schools there. It is a mixture of mature trees, older homes, multi family homes, infills, shops, churches, schools, and more shops. Vibrant and very much a community, including the Glebe Community Centre.

I find myself walking through the Glebe weekly. It's just such a nice neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants and other amenities. Plus there are often enough events and new things to see that it's worth coming to often.

Lots of cafés open early with a variety of boutiques opening up mid-morning. The walk is especially interesting between Glebe Street and the canal.

Neat stores, on the bus route, places to sit and people watch. If you walk west from Bank St .along Glebe Ave you get into a really lovely neighbourhood, big old houses, interesting gardens.

For visitors: Don't bother unless you are passing through. Cute shops? Nope. The Shops at TDplace -- nope unless you like Winners or Lcbo or Whole Foods. Note: sometimes there events worth seeing a TDplace. Otherwise, the Glebe is a wasteland for tourists or visitors....More

I went through the week so maybe this place is more interesting on the weekend? There is a fabulous vegan restaurant and a neat paper store but other than that nothing special.

Watch for the June date & visit for a fun day. It's enjoyable to walk around the tree lined streets especially when summer flowers are in full bloom.

The weekend we visited their was a huge outdoor art show going on. Combined with countless restaurants to choose from, it made for a lovely Sunday of brunch and walking in the park looking at art. A great and dynamic neighbourhood.
