This is a great indoor/outdoor farmers market depending on the time of the year. So much to see and do and lots of places to eat. A must see. Just down from the Canadian Parliament Building. Lots of shops to visit as well.

A little hard to find just off of bank street behind Whole Foods. The market features over 100 local merchants who sell many interesting things. You will find vegetables, unique plants, bake goods, jewelry, different meats, wooden toys, breads and much more. There was buskers and activities for children. No charge to get in. A wonderful way to spend Sunday... More

The market has fantastic atmosphere. They sell all kind of vegetables. The farmers are eager to share their recepies how to prepare certan speciaties from the fresh veggies. The flowers they sell are absolutely gorgeuous! There is a very large selection there. It is also worth to visit just for a pleasant walk, without buying anything.

Although it is still early in the season, there are so many vendors already displaying their items for sale. We were amazed by the abundance of berries - strawberries and raspberries in particular, sold in cups. Wild garlic seemed to be a popular crop early spring time. Many vendors with maple syrup products also.

I was looking for beets for pickling but found great baked breads and prepared sausages instead. Then found a great wine on Byward Market to compliment the meal. Fresh picked carrots from the garden and creamy fettuccine made a perfect home cooked meal. It's too bad it's not closer to home and we have to pay for parking. We would... More
