This is a newer venue than the original theater with more legroom. It lacks the charm of the original but has the same caliber of plays and acting.

We visited the Avon Theatre to see HMS Pinafore with two other couples. We've seen the play before; we've been to this theatre before, but despite familiarity, we did not regret it. These performers are the triple threat - they act, dance, and sing. The...More

Went to see School for Scandal on Saturday and had a great time. Seats in balcony had a great view but are not intended for us "larger folk" (opt for seats with obvious legroom if you are tall or plumper than average for comfort). Theatre...More

The performance was very well done! It is a great and classic story, told exceptionally well by Gilbert & Sullivan. We happened to score a couple of box seats which allowed us to watch the true master strokes of Conductor Franklin Brasz's interpretation of the...More

Not our first time but definitely the last for pinafore. Not sure how many times this can be reprised and be fresh and relevant. Very rushed performance. Highlight definitely the honorable member of parliament. He was great. Uneven voices overall but the music was excellent.

This is a very big beautifully restored theater--look around for nice lights and decorations. The areas before you go to your seats in the theater are quite modern on each level, with several chairs and couches for use while waiting, and good restrooms on two...More

We've always liked the Avon with its classic proscenium-arch stage. The play today showed the theatre at its best. The School for Scandal is a favorite play of ours, and this production was delightful, with excellent performances from Geraint Wyn Davies, Joseph Ziegler and Tyrone...More

We arrived 20 mins before curtain raising. Patrons moved well, we were in the balcony, and found our seats well enough. Others that had difficulties had them solved quickly and very courteously. The overall experience and the surroundings were top notch. The only beefs were...More
