One of Canada's great lakes.

The lake is so big it feels like an ocean. All of the lakes bordering the US and Canada are fascinating. If you like bodies of water, pay a visit.

I have had friends visit me from Boston, look out over lake Ontario, and think it's an ocean. It is one of the great lakes, and has come a long way in the last 10 years. It was very polluted, but now it is safe to swim. If you can rent a boat, it is an awesome day trip to... More

I don't so I visit often. Jog or bike. East end beaches are usually more crowded. West end, Sunnyside beach is my favorite . Our waterfront is great for canoe, kayak, paddle board, kite surfing etc. Humber bay is my favorite spot Nearby patio restaurants are nice for people watching.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
