It's a great place to be, so nice and quiet just a few minutes from the hustle bustle of downtown Toronto. Unfortunately it was closed for most of the summer because of flooding, we could go only once this year.

My husband and I took a narrated boat tour that went along the islands. Was very intrigued to see. We did not know there were small islands off the city. Very nice area to visit. During the summer the island beach is open for visitors.

Yes you can. The ferry does not run as frequently but it is still nice to walk around.

As of 21st July you could only access Wards Island if you had an activity or accommodation pre-booked. However, there were plenty of people on the ferry with bikes but the road signs indicated that roads were closed. The... More
