Fun bar, great guys, crappy DJ

I usually like the Eagle. But come on, with this being the last place for bears to dance in Toronto (basically), let's have some Fun and upbeat music to dance to!

What a crappy place. This is actually not a bar for masc men. As a masc in shape late 30's guy I felt completely out of place. The name and reputation are misleading. It is a ridiculously unfriendly bar with so much "attitude" it almost seems unreal. The bar staff could not be more unfriendly and unprofessional. If you are... More

On Halloween weekend of 2016, my domestic partner and I went to Toronto's Black Eagle. Black Eagle Toronto is located in Molly's Bush, Toronto's gay community. Before I describe our negative experience at the Black Eagle, I need to explain the effort we put into celebrating Halloween. We decided to dress up as ghouls. Between us we spent, $250 on... More

If you like heaps of attitude, beyond unfriendly btch bar, then this is the place for you. You need to have the right look to be welcomed. Very cliquey crowd, A faux masc crowd. Like a costume ball for gays who want to dress up like bearish and leatherish masculine men.The look seems to be identical for everyone. Very cookie cutter.... More

Bears and leather men gather in this downtown Gay bar and welcome you with a significant amount of attitude and with big hearts! Keep an open mind and soon you'll find yourself just at home, whoever you are - leather man or not - bear or not.

This gay bar is not with strict dress code even if one could so expect. All kind and age visitors are welcome and staff is very friendly.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
