It's basically a building that you pass on your way to either 1) Nathan Phillips Square & the TORONTO sign OR 2) the Eaton Centre. It is interesting to see to compare it to New City Hall (behind Nathan Phillips Square), but it's not a main attraction and there's not very much to see.

This plaza is a beautiful place to visit. It is located across from the Sheraton hotel. It has a beautiful water pool with fountains. If you are hungry... there are always nice restaurants near by, or if you wish to have a quick meal.... there is a fantastic hot dog truck always there with delicious hot dogs 🌭 .

Beautiful building, it's like a castle in the middle of this bustling city!Nice contrast to the new city hall just across the street!Take some pictures as its architecture will astonish you.It gives let's say some taste of Europe in this North American city!

The building itself is absolutely stunning from the outside but the inside is dark and old. It's a courthouse and it also houses Mental Health Court in the basement. It definitely needs upgrading. Anyone can go inside and sit in court to watch and learn.

One of the "hearts" of the city, The Old City Hall will make you smile. Where people hang out together, you can skating during the winter or enjoy a show on the summer. Very convenient location as well, right beside the Eaton Centre.

Very old building in downtown Toronto. Across the street from our new City Hall. Centrally located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Tours available.

We dropped by later in the afternoon; the security guard indicated the building was closed, but that we were welcome to wander around the entrance area as much as we want - he indicated that the rest of the building wasn't as interesting. Stunning amount of labour involved in the construction. Intricate work throughout.

This wonderful building acts as a court house. Walking inside of it is pure pleasure. Lots of marble. You feel like you are walking through history. The courtrooms are amazing and usually contain a very unique feature.

We have visited the Old City Hall while we have been visiting the City on our way from Montreal. You can see the contract in architecture when you compare both the old and the new one in retrospective. Tip: Make sure you visit the "small lake" close to it, as many of the pictures you might know from Toronto are... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
