We saw "Grease" here last week. The theater is impressive, but the play was not . It's dated to the point of being offensive. Many of cast are TV starts and their talent did not transfer to live theater. Mediocre acting and singing. Maybe time...More

Attended BAt 🦇 out of hell a few weeks ago. This is a lovely, traditional theatre. Love the ceilings, walls and the ambience. Show was great too.

The Elgin Theatre is simply beautiful. Small enough to keep it intimate. Saw Christmas show, which was very good. The coat room is downstairs as are the individual restrooms, which seemed small for a theatre (only one person at a time).

We saw Grease in the Winter Garden Theatre. The decor is wonderful and makes it look like you’re in a forest. Seats are as comfortable as theatre seats usually get. There are no really bad seats. Row K on the sides had extra leg room....More

I've been to this theatre many times to see plays in the past and most recently I was here to see Grease. Every time I come here, I'm always amazed by the elaborate garden motif. The ceiling is magnificent with the trees and foliage. The...More

Although the Elgin seats 1,500 it has the feel of a more intimate theatre. Unlike other ornate theaters of this era (1913) it is painted to appear there are trees growing up out of the floor and the ceilings are strung with hanging dried beech...More

Went to see "welcome to night vale" and other shows. Gorgeously ornately done theatres, with good views. One of my favorites for events.

I attended a film event at the Elgin, and so got to visit the theater multiple times over a few days. Though the building is historic and stunning, my experience with service and comfort was not good. Ornate molding, deep velvet, and antique brass decorate...More

We visit the Elgin to see Opera Atelier productions. The entranceway and theatre are both very ornate and elegant and wonderfully preserved. Upper level seating is a bit tight on leg room, lower level is better.

Stunning theatres beautifully restored to their glory. Don't miss the chance to ride the original elevators, lovingly had operated by a volunteer decked out in period attire.

At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination

flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities,
with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to

It's probably a matter of preference, I don't believe there's a dress code. Perhaps call the box office to check? I've gone to many musicals and plays in various historic and ornate theaters, and I found that people wear... More
