Not worth the hype

Came here on a recommendation and honestly I don't think it lived up to the hype. The music was pretty good but the bar service was really slow and the bathrooms were GROSS. There... read more

I visited Maison Mercer this last weekend for a special event, and would also agree with the poor reviews on here. The Owners of this Bar need to realize that your front Door Staff are your first and last points of contact in coming into your establishment. Maybe hire people who know how to speak. They didn't display the slightest... More

Douche bags everywhere. Pretentious people everywhere. Way too many people packed in there. Bouncers are losers and think they are cool so treat everyone like crap. You're Bouncers relax. Music sucked. Terrible place. No thanks.

Dance floor was packed, people just bumping into you the whole time, I just couldn't enjoy myself, drinks were overpriced, just wasn't a good experience, too bad I was ready to have a great time, coat check was over 30 minutes, everything was pretty much a disappointment, way cooler places in Toronto to go to

This place is HUGE! But that's where the excitement stops. Like any other nightclub you're waiting for a while before you can actually get in (after you pay the $20 cover). Then you stand in line for (rude) coat check people to keep your jackets (for an additional $4). The bar-tending staff isn't the nicest, actually the guys who work... More

Paid $30 each to get in the door but the club is really cool. We didn't stay super late (arrived around 11 p.m. on a Friday and left shortly after midnight) but the crowd was fun and bartenders were great. It was easy to get a drink and move around, but we were told things pick up a lot later... More

This place is not really that special, although it tries to be, It gets ridiculously hot after midnight, and the A/C is pointed at the dj but no air flow in the rest of the club. The crowd is nothing special- it's as if someone took a suburban Mississauga club and its patrons, and put it down town. It reminded... More

Great atmosphere and can get right up close to the artists. I went for a paid concert and there was no waiting in line. Easy to get drinks at the bar and the staff were great. Good vibe.

My friends and I decided to go to Maison Mercer last minute. I was skeptical about getting in, as it was almost 1am and Maison had a special DJ. (The early bird tix were $25 but none of us bought it). My friends and I used the Eve Tab mobile app and bought our tabs while in the taxi. We... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
