I bring my 8 year old daughter to True North every week for the kids rec program and I have to say that not only does she love it but I do too! Watching her learn and develop the skills needed for climbing is extremely satisfying. Rock climbing provides a great mix of both physical and mental prowess - the... More

The place is great, I'm sure, if you're a seasoned climber. Otherwise, be sure to get ready to be looked down upon. On top of their rude attitudes, they seem to have a general disregard for customers waiting at the service counter and you can expect to wait a while while the staff walk around carelessly and give you an... True North is a really awesome climbing gym. Their top rope routes are awesome, giving a lot of different dynamic options for climbers. Bouldering is good but generally fairly crowded, especially when the youth team is practicing. Would benefit from some expansion. Staff are good, some more friendly than others. Community is really awesome, everyone who climbs there I've found... More

I really like this place. I have been there about a dozen times. The walls constantly change and you have options for all levels. It does get a bit too crowded at times, but as a whole, it's a great place. Can't find better in Toronto.

We took a beginner's course at True North last week and then ended up staying for about 3 more hours until it closed. It is quite difficult if you are not used to this kind of thing. But it is still a lot of fun because there are many different levels of courses and you can choose whichever one you... More

My cousins and I tried out true north this week, and I gotta say i was very impressed! it is a BIG complex so there was a lot of variety. We are all in our mid twenties but it was a work out and a half!! They give you a 30 min instructional about safety and then send you on... More

My kids have been here many times & our youngest loves this place!!!!! TRUE NORTH YOU ROCK! There are recreational programs, competitive programs, freebie lessons and lessons for most classes, especially if you are a first timer. Check out their website a week in advance to see what's happening. The Weekend Scramble is one of the best activities offered in... More

NOT SAFE ! Safety in sport like rock-climbing is the first priority. This place is just not safe. First of all kids are allowed to climb everywhere, including over and under people who is already on a route. Secondly, everyone who knows how a harness looks like is allowed for top-ropes. What really freaks me out is that people on... More

Yes, safety is absolutely our top priority at all times, and we work hard to keep our gym as safe as possible. We require a belay test before anyone is allowed to belay in our facility. We certify our instructors with the CWA and/or ACMG. I am very proud of our safety record. I would ask this anonymous reviewer to... More
