I love going for massages, especially when I travel. I was a walk in client while stay at the King Edward Hotel. I was disappointed in how run down and old the spa area is. Considering the renovations done at the hotel, it was very subpar and cleanliness was okay. I booked a full body massage and had Mark. Hands... More

By far the worst spa I have ever experienced. Just an awful facility and a complete waste of money. If I could rate 0 I would. I left more annoyed than relaxed. The facility is so outdated and the massage rooms are open concept. I could hear someone having a full conversation with their masseuse the entire time of my... More

Where should I start!!!!???? The massage and people at the Spa where very nice, however the Spa facility itself is run down and very old!! I felt like I stepped into the 80s. The halls and waiting area have dark green carpets, the changing rooms have old tiles, metal lockers and toilet stalls looking like a 1960s high school! The... More

I bought their "evening out" package with a friend and it was awful. The hair and makeup were horrible and facilities old and dated. The massage was well done, but the rooms are loud and distracting. The walls don't go to the ceiling so you can hear people talking in other rooms while you're getting a massage. I also had... More

My husband and I each enjoyed 50 mins of top quality massage at Nouvelle Maria Spa (inside the Omni Prince Edward) while enjoying a getaway weekend in Toronto. This experience was just what I wanted -- really great massage and a comfortable, pleasant place to have it in. Too often, hotel spas spend a ton on décor, and then skimp... More

I consider myself (our whole family actually) connoisseurs of massage therapy. We travel the world and always make a point of having a massage for its therapeutic effects and to help us relax and feel revitalized as our careers are extremely stressful. Nouvelle Maria Spa has by far the best therapists I have encountered in my life! They are highly... More

I've been to many high-end spas in Europe and Asia. Although the Nouvelle Maria Spa's ambience is more utilitarian than sumptuously luxurious, Nouvelle is very clean and the staff are welcoming and friendly. I had a mani, pedi and facial - all of which were expertly delivered. The facial, in particular, was one of the best I've ever had. The... More

I've been to the Nouvelle Maria a few times and today I went back just to try it out again. The last time I went, I booked Mark who was amazing. I wish I requested him again. Today I had a female therapist and I was very confused with her style. Usually when I get massaged the process is very... More

The staff at Nouvelle Maria was meticulous and precise with all of their services. I felt relaxed with the mani/pedi treatment and beautiful with the make up application. If you are staying at the Omni King Edward, be sure to book a treatment. The owner, Marie, is one of the kindest people I have met in traveling. You will not... More

I recently had the opportunity to be treated to a day at the Nouvelle Maria Spa. As a busy mother, wife and lawyer, making time to get the spa is important. What impressed me is that the staff took the time to understand me as a client. My husband had shared with them a glimpse into the hectic life I... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
