I watched Carmen on 6th June and was disappointed. Not that the production did not have strong moments. Other than the silly scene of men in drag and the character of Escamillo presented as an effeminate bull, the second half was much better, because it...More

Passion, Sex, Desire and Transgression are the tropes of Bizets Carmen. The dress rehearsal of National Ballet of Canada "interpretation " might be improved by some undressing, though nude and passionless would be particularity painful in the bizarre scene where male dancers appear crossdressed and...More

When you pay over $600 for a family of four to attend a matinee of the Nutcracker you would expect a high quality performance. Not us, we saw ballet students instead of professional ballet dancers prancing around in what I thought was a very unprofessional...More

If you love ballet then you can't miss seeing the National Ballet of Canada. Especially around Christmas time you have to go and see the Nutcracker! If you don't love the ballet, go anyway!

We saw the Nutcracker over the holidays and truly enjoyed the performance. We knew someone that was performing in the show, although a very small bit it was worth seeing her and the rest of the cast perform.

It is a wonderful ballet, second only to Russia's ballet in Moscow and St. Petersburg. We watched the Nutcracker last fall in the great venue and it was wonderful. The theatre, the Four Seasons, was a wonderful place to have it. Probably nicer than Russia.

Hopefully you don't suffer from vertigo, as anyone who does would not be able to tolerate the height of Ring 5. Otherwise you will have a clear view from anywhere you sit except that it will be from a great height.

When they go on sale, they normally do a family four-pack which reduces the cost of the tickets. The Nutcracker only plays in November,December and January as it is the Xmas period. I don't believe there is any age... More

You would be the dressed best people there. When I went a few years ago, everyone was quite casually dressed.
