Came here for the first time, and probably the last time. Food was okay and was reasonably priced for what we got, but the waitress disappeared for long periods of time and when we did see her and ask for something she would leave and forget. Inside was pretty run down, and not in a charming way.

I did not have high expectations for my evening at hoops, being a spots pub I was looking forward to some drinks and some finger food before a leafs game. However during the course of my eveing, my already low expectations were shattered. I ordered a vodka- cranberry juice, safe enough i thought. The drink came to the table however... More

Great wings and acceptable prices. Our server Allison was super nice, brutally honest and sociable. She even recommended many other spots for us to go to in Toronto.

1. Service was terrible. Went with 7 people to watch the Penguin vs Maple leafs game. Ordered two pitchers of beer. The server said "Well we will start you with one!" Are you kidding. After two visits to the manager the server was "cut" and a new server took over. In her defense she was a little better. 2. Both... More

4 of us went to Hoops Sports Bar prior to one of the games USA v CZECH REPUBLIC in the Ice Hockey World Cup.Place was jam packed inside and the heat was stifling. No air-con !!!! Lucky to get a seat in the outside patio area. Ordered a few beers and a light snack, service was fine, food was average.... More

Went to Hoops Sports Bar & Grill prior to a Leafs game only because it's super close to the ACC. We (2 of us) were sat at a table in a high traffic zone and very close to the surrounding tables. Our waitress had to squeeze past us to get to the table wedged in the corner beside us. It's... More

Disappointing time spent and money spent in this bar/restaurant! Very claustrophobic if sitting in a booth as the seats are low down and table very close to you. Way to many chairs and tables in the place as they sat us close to a corner where they stacked cases of alcohol and every time someone came around the corner my... More

Went to watch WCH semi-final since in area after Blue Jays game. It was extremely hot in bar and we were told they do not have air conditioning! Server was good but food (chicken wings) was lousy and over-priced. Would not return.

This place only stays open thanks to their location. Walking distance to the Acc/CN Tower/ Rogers Center. By far the worse service i've ever experienced. Took over 20 minutes for someone to show up and ask if we wanted drinks.. Another 15 for the drinks to arrive..an even longer wait to get my food which was burnt toothpick looking fries... More

The first time we went to Hoops was a few months back waited over 20 minutes to be served for our drink orders and then they never came. We actually left the place as we were on a time limit. Tried again this past weekend and have to say we waited again almost 20minutes to order. Service was horrible and... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
