This is an excellent 6 km walk on the Summerside Boardwalk. We did it last year and did it again this year. Nice breeze off the water, sun shining... well kept boardwalk with information stations along the way. The only downside of the whole walk was the smell from the water treatment plant! This lighthouse is easily accessible and free to view. This area of the island is near a lot of attractions.

It's a very pretty, well-maintained lighthouse, but there's really nothing to *do* at this attraction. It sits along the Summerside harbour baywalk, which itself is LOVELY and takes you through a changing landscape of waterfront and into a forest full of critters. So, take a stroll or bike ride along the walk and note this as you go by.

Can't pass a lighthouse in either Nova Scotia or here on Prince Edward Island. For the most part, they are well kept, have ample visitor parking, many have gift shops, and quite a few have interesting histories.

A second lighthouse that you can drive to is easily seen from the highway. There is another similar one just a little way further away from the shore and looks very similar in construction. Hopefully this is the right one for this review. It is in good shape but open to the public. You can get a picture of the... More
