Nice people but this was a tiny studio that offers classes, not a top ten site to see in Montreal! It took us a while to find it, the up side was that we got to see a part of Montreal we might have missed otherwise!

Just thought I'd share what a wonderful and enlightening experience my daughter and I had sculpting with Joel and staying at His and Rob's beautiful Loggia. The location of the Loggia right in the heart of the artists section of beautiful Montreal and one block away from Joel's sculpture studio could'nt be more inspirational for this (me) budding sculptor. The... More

L'atelier de sculpture du Village I have always loved and admired sculpture. When travelling one of the first things I will notice in a new city are the statues that adorn public spaces. When given the opportunity by Joël Prevost to try my own hand at sculpting in his workshop I went for it. I have now taken five courses... More

The atelier has on location a functioning ceramique studio and a gallery showing sculptures as well as paintings. If you have any interest in sculpture it is a fascinating place with several artists working in the studio and developing their art under the guidance of master sculptor Joel Prevost. There are classes to the public throughout the cooler months and... More

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Sculpteur/teacher Joel Prevost is passion. He is a passionate artist and teacher and thrives on sharing his passion about creating and technique in sculpting with his students. My two classes were five week class of three hours one night a week. There were six students, male and female, all... More

Joel Prevost is a sensitive teacher and a master sculptor. I have many of his pieces in my home, and everyone who sees them up close is struck with their fineness, and their majesty. Whether you meet him for a sculpting class, or to purchase a piece, or simply to talk about the arts, he's a unique presence. Go see... More

When in Montreal...La Loggia is a must place to stay. Rob and Joel are fabulous hosts. And give yourself time to experience clay sculpting with Joel. Attend one of his classes. You wont regret learning from this world class artist.

A dream of a lifetime to be able to sclupt with clay. A great teacher Joel was, patient, attentive, dedicated you name it. Last Autumn I followed a 5 course class, my first sculpting course. We were six students, half had already followed a course with Joel. The atmosphere was terrific in Joel's studio situated in his great B&B La Loggia.... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
