I found the Canadian Centre for Architecture a good place. I am not an architect but has some interest in the subject. I had only one day in Montreal and I started it from there. The exhibits, library, overall ambiance everything was great.

The Architecture Museum is free on Thursday nights after 5:30pm. It is housed in an interesting new building, but it also incorporates an older mansion, built in 1879 from stone. This part contains a circular mahogany tea room and solarium. It is an interesting museum...More

Small museum with some limited interesting exhibits. Good place to get out of the cold for a couple of hours. Had some nice info on early Montreal and there was a special exhibition from a private collection on Asia which has some interesting pieces.

Not just for the specialist. Have a look at the website for exhibitions, lectures, seminars, concerts, family activities. You are bound to find something of interest. An enormously pleasing building incorporating a really lovely 19th century house. Welcoming, knowledgeable staff; admission includes periodic guided tours....More

We thought that Montreal would have a fine exhibition of various architectural styles and were keen to visit. On arrival, there was no signs to direct us to the entrance and so we walked around the entire building before realising that the unmarked door was...More
