The surrounding area is clean and accessible to everyone. The interior of the building is artistic. There are modern style decorations. It is a good walk in and out. It connects to Complexe Desjardin. There is an underground pathway at the lower ground area.

We went to a concert and were very impressed with the hall (it looks new). Lots of wood, clean lines, and good acoustics.

What a beautiful place, we really enjoyed watching our daughter perform at this location. We were recently at Carnegie Hall in NYC and PDA is nicer in my opinion.

Went to the ballet at Place des Arts. This was our first visit there. It's a wonderful idea to have so many art venues (music, ballet, theatre, etc.) in one large building. Will go again for sure!!!

I am a lover of all things "theatre". I am a regular client of Place des Arts. I have seen many shows in the past few years and have never been disappointed. The seating is really comfortable and the ability to see the show is accessible in any part of the theatre. They also offer wheelchair accessibility. During the intermission,... More

I opened the door to Place des Artes thinking it was just a place to see performance arts. However, it is so much more. There are multiple theaters to see various fine arts like ballet, the symphony and more. There were also two free exhibits. One was a temporary phone and short film exhibit of interracial couples here in Montreal.... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
