This amazing cathedral, the seat of the diocese, was designed in homage to St. Peters Basilica in Vatican square. The collection of paintings on the wall are not to be missed.

Located in downtown Montreal at Peel and Rue de Saint Catherine, across from Dorchester Square, the Cathedrale de Marie-Reine-du-Monde was my favorite church compared to the Basilique Notre-Dame de Montreal or the L'Oratoire Saint Joseph du Mont-Royal. At the top of the front the cathedral...More

Peaceful and while not a grand historical church in the European style, well worth the visit, and if Catholic, an excellent place for Mass even if you do not understand French. The paintings are of a style and worth looking at in the historical context....More

Cathedral of Marie-Reine-du-Monde is centrally located. It is a nice church that copies the alter design of St. Peter’s Cathedral in the Vatican. If you are nearby, it is free to visit, but I don’t think it is worth making a special trip.

This church is so much brighter and modern than Notre Dame Cathedral. Say a pray, meditate, take in the beauty!

One of the amazing things about Montreal is that you find beautiful old buildings in between to modern towers which make up the skyline. This scaled down model of St. Peter’s is a fine example of this.

This church was modelled after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, but only 1/3 of the size. If you would like to see what St. Peter's Basilica looks like then this is a good free stop to make.
