This is definitely a fun and informative trip. You will get to see Montreal by land and water. All along the way, the tour guide points out the points of interest, and makes it a very fun and enjoyable trip. The tour is given in both English and French. It is probably about an hour long, well worth the price.... More

The tour staff was friendly and fun. You get some history of the city on the bus portion of the tour. From the water you get another perspective of the city. The tour was in English and French so everyone could enjoy. I give this tour a thumbs up. It is only a few times a day so make sure... More

Visited in September 2016 with my parents. This was an hour long tour of Old Port area with 30 min on land and 30 min in water. Gives you a gist of the complete area. Would recommend this to someone who has car and can visit further areas like Mont Royal, Biodome, etc. on their own. This is a good... More

The tour lasts an hour with probably about 40 minutes in the water. Our tour guide, Sylvie, delivered a humorous and interesting commentary on surrounding buildings. However the jewel in the crown of this tour is undoubtedly the views and photographic opportunities offered by the Montreal skyline.

We thought that this tour would be a good one for our 5 year old grand-daughter. Unfortunately, we adults found it to be lame and our 5 year old became bored quickly, especially on the first part of the four which drives around part of Old Montreal talking about old buildings. The main thing that the child enjoyed was when... More

The tour was decent enough. The captain was funny. The bus/boat could use some maintenance. It was a bit beat up and the back door/stairs had to be manually closed. It's a good tour to get a feel for Old Montreal and the Old Port. The reason for 3 stars is that the tour is billed as bilingual (English and... More

We did the fireworks tour and would do it again. This is one of the best ways to view the fireworks. You have a place to sit, a great view, and Champagne! Fred and Madeline the driver and tour guide were wonderful. Fred navigated tight traffic jams with skill and Madeline kept us entertained. Even when booking this tour and... More

This tour was great. Takes about an hour. Takes you on land for 1/2 the tour, then the bus goes into the water for the other 1/2 hour. My 12 year old son actually couldn't stop talking about it Capt. Fred and Philip were great tour guides. Highly recommended.

Great way to get your bearings quickly and at reasonable cost - appr 100 CAD total. Excellent captain, good lady guide, good interaction between both. We did it with 3 children aged 13, 11 and 6. Good activity to do with them. Super exciting the moment you drive into the water. Scary to get close to the incredibly fast flowing... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
