Impressive, yet failed to impress!

My husband and I booked a meal for the snow village for us and our 2 children, and when we arrives, they had completely forgot about us! They said it would be another 2 hours before we will get a table because they said they were "booked out" but the restaurant was half empty! Our children decided to go on... More

My fiancé and I went to the snow village restaurant, and it was the first time in my life where in the set menu every course was worse than the one before. It took us 15 mins to walk from the car to the restaurant and about 30 mins to eat and leave. Even the dessert was tasteless. Since it... More

My wife and I were up in Montreal for a few days this past winter. Initially I had thought it would be something similar to what they showed in the Pierce Bronson, 007 movies. Alas, it was anything but so. Still, I found what they did with the place quite impressive. We decided to visit the village at night. That... More

Although I know it is out of the control of the adminstrators that the weather got too warm and the Ice hotel was not safe to stay in, I did not appreciate that they waited to tell me that when I arrived on the island at 4:30pm. I was unable to access my email where they sent a cancellation email... More

We visited the Snow Village on it's opening night. It was super cool and the art is very impressive but there is not much to do there. I thought there were giong to be fun activities. There is a bar, a restaurant, hotel rooms and thats about it. The best part were the fireworks. Now, maybe it has changed since... More

Such a unique experience that is easily accessible by the Metro Jean-Drapeau and then a short walk to get to the actual site location. Be sure to dress warm since you are outdoors and if you want to see the fireworks go on a Saturday night. In addition to the walking through to see each of the uniquely carved rooms... More

Didn't know about this until our B&B host mentioned it. We enjoyed walking through the park to get to the Ice Hotel which was interesting to see. Good thing they had a bar with hot chocolate and liqueur...It was cold!

Staying at the hotel was a neat experience, but not something that needs to be done more than once. The snow village itself didn't have much to do besides looking at all the rooms, reserving a meal at the restaurant, listening to outdoor music, hanging out in the heated bubble, going to the ice bar, and an opportunity to snow... We first learned about ice hotels from a gorgeous Nat Geo documentary; then we learned of Rami Kurtakko and team's work in Montreal. We were vary excited to see Snow Village (tho we chose for financial reasons not to spend the night). We arrived on a Friday at dusk with gentle snowfall. After paying the $12 admission, we learned that... More

If you want to see something different and unique visit the Snow Village, Ice Hotel. The Igloo bedrooms fun to visit. The bedrooms were awsome with different themes. The carvings on the walls and ice sculptures were also amazing too see. The restaurant was really cool, unfortunatly it was closed during the day..The Ice Bar was also neat to see,... More

Staying in Parc Jean-Drapeau

Neighbourhood Profile
Parc Jean-Drapeau
The islands of Saint-Helene and Notre-Dame together make up the anchored fabric of Parc Jean-Drapeau. The mostly man-made grounds were built to be the site of the 1967 World's Fair, and the chiefly car-free space still retains its inherited carnival character. A wonderland of foliage and flora awaits at the Jardins des Floralies, with its expanse of pond-marked wetlands making it perfect for hiking, nature walks, and exploration. Old exhibitions still straddle the newest entertainment complexes, including the high-flying roller coasters of La Ronde Amusement Park and the brightly-lit Casino de Montréal. From the springtime on, families crowd the sandy beaches with candy-striped umbrellas, and rowers take to the Olympic Basin, where the spherical American Pavilion and the high brick Tour de Lévis provide an atypical backdrop. A short metro trip carries visitors and locals to this vacationing spot, providing leisure and activity outside of the inner city.
