A creative chocolate shop and an informative small chocolate museum where visitors can learn about the history of chocolate. The Chocolate Museum is free, self guided and displays more than 200 artifacts and objects related to chocolate history. All the displays now have their English version. Two video are presented (Artisan Chocolate Making and the Industrial Chocolate Making Process (French), from the cocoa tree to the chocolate bar). Watch the chocolatiers at work through a window while you try one of our 10 renowned hot chocolates. In the boutique, the chocolate lovers will find a great variety of classic and audacious handmade chocolates (try the Biquette, a chocolate with goat cheese and Bartlett pear puree!). Indulge yourself with one of our chocolate pastries (chocolate brownies, cookies, cupcakes and decadent chocolate cake) and during the summer, let yourself be tempted by one of the 69 homemade ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogourt and tofu offered! Érico is located in the Faubourg Saint-Jean Baptiste, a convivial part of the city, outside the touristic old walls, that is worth the visit.

This spot was the last stop on the Tour Voir Quebec Food Tour -- tasty chocolates and an interesting little museum. We liked the dark chocolate with ginger.

Small chocolate museum where you can learn about chocolate production and try raw chocolate beans (which is pretty cool). They also have a little shop where you can buy chocolate and get a nice hot beverage made out of real chocolate! Try the hot chocolate ;-)

After our visit to the Chocolaterie de l'Ile d'Orleans, we were intrigued about the one in Quebec City: Erico. Here too they do everything by hand. Quite delicious, I can say. Here too they have a museum, all about chocolate. However, their perspective is based on the history of chocolate, from the Mayan Civilization till today. They had a lot... More

"Museum" probably brings up images of a stone building full of artifacts or art. Erico doesn't offer anything quite that grand. The museum is really just a store-front. But it's fun and interesting. And you'll only have to devote 10 minutes or so to browse through the displays. On our visit, the service in the attached shop was a bit... More

We tried two kinds of hot chocolate - the decadent and the bambini. The decadent was super dark, rich, and thick, and reminded me of Spanish chocolate which is consumed with churros. The bambini was lighter, but was good. The chocolate eclair had a chocolate mousse-like filling and was good. We haven't tried the truffles yet, but I'm excited to... More

A great place to have chocolate & ice-cream (especially the dark chocolate ice cream). Service excellent. Price reasonable. Museum is very informative about the history, growing & making of chocolate & you can see chocolate being made in the rear room. Excellent visit!

We were curious about this shop as they advertise a range of chocolates by country of origin or processing. What we discovered was an interesting shop with a small but very good museum. The museum, on a much smaller scale, reminded us of the chocolate museum in Brussels. There is chocolate from a number of countries, a couple that we... More

Chocolates! Hand made, artisan chocolates that will melt in your mouth and make you want to go back to Quebec City! Located on an interesting street full of shops and restaurants, and in easy walking distance from the Hilton and other hotels.
