Took our 6 year old daughter to the funicular and she loved the views and the thrill of the ascent. Cost $3 per adult and she rode free. It was the perfect end to exploring Old town just below.

Going from the Upper City to the Lower City is much easier than the reverse. The fee for the ride back up was well worth it

Tis is a grand way to see the St. Lawrence River and Old Quebec City. The walk from Old Quebec to the Port is very steep and not so pleasant in the rain, so we took the funicular both to and from the port on two separate days. Fun and inexpensive.

Quebec City - The Old Town is steep. Thank goodness for the funicular after a day of sightseeing. Well worth the cost.

The funicular is a nice, quick way to get from the old to the new. It is clean and safe and inexpensive. At this point in our walk I was glad for a little relief and the funicular afforded me a little rest.

You can climb and climb all the stairs to get to the upper level of Quebec City, or you can take the Funicular.....we did the latter and our knees thank us for doing so! It gives a beautiful view on the climb up! Glass elevator allows spectacular photos!

This funicular is a necessity for those who do not like liking up steep slopes and steps - you are transported rapidly from the lower town back to the Duferrin zterrace in seconds!

This $3 dollar (canadian) ride takes you up from the lower old Quebec, alongside the river, to the walled in upper old city. If you have trouble walking, it's an easy way to get up the hill. Empties out on the broad boardwalk overlooking the river with a very good view up and down the rive.

It's just a cable car, like the ones in San Francisco, but not as charming, and the ride is very short. If it were free it might be worth doing. If you are physically impeded then it does afford you the opportunity to explore the lower town -- which isn't really as neat as the upper town anyway
