This is an interesting street that turns into rue St. Louis once it enters the old walled city. Once one walks through the gate, one feels as if one had walked into France.

We took this walk east to Av Cartier and enjoyed seeing part of the city that wasn't inundated with tourists.

The Grande Allee was not to be missed. The parliement and the fountain is on the way to the wall surrounding Old Quebec.

We stayed at Le Concorde located on the Grande Allee. It is an interesting street full of charming buildings that have been converted into hotels, offices and restaurants. Lots of outdoor patio space...if only the weather was better. The Street appeared safe and clean. Lots of people out during the evenings. Apparently there are some lively nightclubs in the neighbourhood... More

This is a remarkable street(not an alley like I thought by the name..lol) You could spend hours walking the charming neighborhood. I would love to try all the restaurants and sidewalk terraces cafes..) A must-see!

I am going to add to the other reviews. If you can, not only go and discover the Grande Allée closer to the Parliament and Old Quebec but I would suggest, if you have a car or a mode of transportation, to drive west toward The Université de Laval. There are a lot of very beautiful buildings, grand old houses,... More

Grande Allee was around the corner from our hotel so we took advantage of several restaurants at different times of day. The food and prices were reasonable and we were happy with our choices. Menus are posted for your review, choices are varied, and the only downside was the loud music from some of the places that were really obnoxious... More

People, architecture, sounds, music, food, lights all come together to make this strip a place you must see and experience. Doesn't cost anything to just walk up ad down the main portion of the Grand Allée and to see the wonderful lighting effects from all sides. It's a wonderful people watching place. Such beautiful people all so well behaved.
