Hi Stephane 1592, First of all, it is true that the visit of the Old Jail is not available for children under 12 years old. Indeed, the visit includes testimonies on prison life that could be disturbing for young children. You can find this information...More

By sharing the experience of the prisonners and the jail workers , you will not believe your ears about all the stories the guide will tell you. It is really a must. Take also the visit at the museum beside the building.

Went with couple of friends and totally loved it! The tour guide shows you the prison and all of the rooms including the basement. They also tell stories about prisoners and how they used to be treated. Would definitely recommend!

I am unable to comment on the attraction as you can only go in on a guided tour, which is fair enough, however, they do not do English speaking tours on Sundays. The tour lasts about one and a half hours, which is a long...More

This is a very interesting place to visit and tour. The guides are former prisoners willing to share their experience having been in this prison. It is amazing to think that it was operating into the mid 1980's especially after learning about the conditions. It...More

This is one of the must sees of Trois-Rivières. Whenever I have out-of-town guests I take them to visit. It's creepy and very eye-opening.

There were some issues with the guides who claimed to not know that they needed to speak English to our school group. This was disappointing. We will be giving it another chance this year, hopefully no issues this time...

Its is an historic place to visit. With the guide you can learn a lot about the history and the kind of life prisonners were treated. Of course it is easier if you understand french because almost all the guides only speak french.
