With the recent snow, we were able to enjoy views of snow covered mountains in late May. This is truly breathtakingly beautiful. The views of emerald bay, Fannette Island and the surrounding mountains were remarkable. We walked to Vikingsholm as well. It was worth the walk but the altitude and steep path were difficult for older travelers. If you are... More

Our first time to Lake Tahoe and several people recommended we stop at Emerald Bay, we are so happy we did, breathtaking views of the lake and mountains - there is still quite a bit of snow after an amazing winter - a must see !

Went in May, was still snow on the tops but the water was warm enough to paddle and the views are sensational. Well worth a visit if in the area!

Unfortunately we were there to early to be able to drive down to the bottom and see the beach and castle up close, but OMG is it beautiful to just look at from above. The view is just amazing and to see how beautiful the lake looks with the snow covered mountains in the back ground just takes your breath... More

The park has some of the best views of the lake. This small bay is gorgeous. There are tons of hiking and sites around the area. We stayed on the north side of the lake, but drove down to Emerald Bay almost everyday we were there

We stayed in South Lake Tahoe and our host said we should make sure we visited Emerald Bay, so we did. We drove to the location but to our surprise to visit this bay, you drive to a location high up in the hills that overlooks the bay. We were not disappointed. The views were magnificent. Do not miss this... More

Prettier than Yosemite to me. Unbelievable views. I prefer exploring on my own but the MS Dixie is a great way to see it as well

Emerald bay is one of the most beautiful places we have seen!!! You need to rent a car, but it's well worth it. Drive around the whole lake, it's a fantastic sightseeing!!!
