Entrance to the National Museum is free. It is located in Doongan, Butuan near theButuan City Hall. Well maintained cleanliness although the guard on duty at the gate is also the one who will accompany you inside museum. Some of the rooms inside has poor lightings. I was advised not to take pictures using flash. But i cant help but use flash due to... More

There was only a handful of displays and it happened that during my visit they had their boxed set display that was really for schools and not for a museum as such. There needs to be more information and perhaps pictures to add interest into the studies. The section with the skulls and bones were a bit dark and what... More

Museum was still under renovation when we went. Although it didn't feature much, an enthusiastic curator gave as a very informative tour

My city tour's last stop was Butuan National Museum. I love going to Museums because I can get a sight of what was used to be. It enables me to learn and understand my traits and the people around me. I excitedly enter the museum but was devastated to know that they don't have electricity at that time. Luckily, one... More

The museum is nice and informative. The incharge is friendly and she explains to us some the things that are exhibited there. Though it is undergoing improvement.

it looked like a museum and set in a park setting with artifical lake but the illusion quickly changes when we entered...free entry but very few exhibits that told us little about butuan history..a plus was the elderly lady guide who gave us a very informative tour of the limited exhibitions....we came hoping to see samples and information on the... The Butuan National Museum has a lot to offer especially to the curious historians. Imagine the Balangay and how it was constructed, the gold and its importance, the wooden coffins, the depiction on the lives of the Butuanons through their artifacts and the rich and advance civilization of the Agusan. I love to visit it again!

... But it won't take much time either. You can tour it in less than hour. Accessible via their multicab rides. I met Ate Earl whom I had an almost one on one tour session around. Primarily went here to learn more about the statement "Butuan came first before the Philippines." Go only if you are interested to know more... More

The transformer has not been fixed so the curator brought us through the museum using flashlights. It made for an unforgettable experience. Particularly the balanghai boat, which reminded me of the Galilee boat exhibit in Israel.
