This is a great circular trail ride in Crete. We did it unguided, a rare treat since so few places 'allow' this and insist on a guide. The horses are lovely warm-bloods, not too large (a good thing - you'll be on and off quite a bit). They are very well-schooled and respond well to good riding unlike some others... More

If you want a great adventure in Crete and can ride this is it! The Cretan Odyssey was a fantastic horse trek from the north of the island to the south coast and back again on a circular route. We covered almost 200km and went up to almost 1800m. Luckily, nature is still intact in this part of the world... More

The stables themselves are absolutely charming and perfectly clean. The tack is in perfect condition and well adapted to each horse. In fact I'd like to get the same Wintec saddle! The horses themselves are completely trustworthy. They each have their own personality, but all handle themselves with confidence. I had the pleasure of riding Ilios for an entire week... More

I finished the Crete Lassithi Trail unguided ride a week ago (mid-September, 2016). I've probably been on about a dozen equestrian riding vacations, and my favourites are the unguided rides. (I'd done 3 others before this.) This riding experience was head and shoulders ahead of all others. Every aspect was superior: top-notch athletic horses who were lovingly cared for and... More

Great stables, friendly staff and gorgeous rides! Options for beginners to advanced riders. A Cretan mountain ride is magic.

I cannot stress enough how wonderful this place is. Equine professionalism at its best, nothing was too much trouble, they were able to cater for myself as an experienced rider and my partner who had never ridden before. Then you had the hospitality from the hotel and time to relax by the pool at no extra cost.

My wife loves to ride horses, so she found this place. The afternoon session was a little too advanced for me (I'm still pretty novice), so we had lunch, she went on a beautiful horseback ride, and I had a lovely sit by the pool. Great horseback ride, from what I understand.

We stayed here for a week in June. It was our best Holiday by far. We decided to try something different this time having always done the beach holidays in Greece. We booked the beginners course, having never ridden before. The first lesson was all about finding your balance on the horse. The instructor (and owner) Sabine was first class,... More

At Odysseia Stables we did the guided Lassithy Trek. During a week time we crossed Crete on a horseback from the north to the south coast and back. A fantastic experience! Every day different landscapes: between the olive fields, across old villages, on a high plateau, wonderful long canters through a hilly landscape between mountain peaks over 2000m and sometimes...
