From the beach, on the coast on the Oaxacan coast bathed by the waves of the sea, in the municipality of Santa Maria Tonameca, you can glimpse a "window" that rocks have formed over the centuries. This creation of nature inspired our name: "La Ventanilla". This community is made up of around 25 families, all of whom are committed to working to preserve the life of the mangroves and conserve their biodiversity. To do this, we organize and form a cooperative called "Ecotourism Services of La Ventanilla S.C. de R.L. de C.V.", which is relatively young in age but large in terms of the fruits we have harvested in such a short time. Thanks to this project today we can offer you unforgettable sightseeing tours, since it is a project made with great affection by us, the inhabitants of the community. Welcome to La Ventanilla aslomate the adventure

Visited La Ventanilla again in February with a friend. Took the camionette from Zipolite and walked in from the main road. It is a very pleasant walk. I noted quite a bit of development in the several years since I was last there. There are...More

In the tiny, peaceful town of La Ventanilla, we were very happy with our 3 night stay at the "cabañas" run by Servicio Ecoturismo (the guys in the white shirts, as the previous reviewer mentioned), the organization that has been working for many years to...More

We were staying in Zipolite and decided to take a late afternoon trip to Playa Ventanilla. We stumbled upon the crocodile ecotour, which is well worth it (I think it was 65 pesos/person). We were 2 and had an English-speaking guide who took us to...More

The visit was about 2 hours in total, partly because I think our guide was so informative and it wasn't too busy in the AM. We went on Dec 31 so it was a busy time for domestic tourists but we went early enough that...More

Thankfully I found and read the previous reviews before we drove to Ventanilla for the crocodile tour. My wife, son, and his girlfriend drove up from Huatulco for the tour and I just happened to be searching on trip advisor for any other suggestions of...More

My wife and I visited this lovely sanctuary and came away with great respect for the work these folks are committed to, particularly protecting sea turtles and educating the public about their plight. This group is the real deal. Skip the museum in Mazunte, with...More

A fantastic experience with, not only exposure to a great deal of wildlife (crocodiles, iguanas, birds...), but also real evidence of the care the locals are giving to protect this local environment. In addition, the beach is more than pleasant! Highly recommended.

Playa Ventanilla Jungle Tour The village of Playa Ventanilla is about ten kilometers west of Puerto Angel (past Zipolite, San Augustinillo, and Mazunte). There is a local cooperative that provides fabulous, low-key boat tours of the nearby jungle lagoon. The tour takes about an hour...More
