Plaza Del Baratillo may not be as impressive as all the others in Guanajuato but its location and the availability of eating places around it contributes to the Spanish ambiance typical of Guanajuato. Seating in one of the cafes/restaurants or simply standing/eating next to a vendor's stall gives you a view of the fountain and the simple but impressive colonial... More

This is a relatively small plaza near the Jardin de la Union whose focal point is an ancient Venetian fountain that was reportedly a gift from a French princess. There Several alleyways (callejons) come together here and it's a good place to from which explore the city as the locals see it, walking through alleys lined with houses, barbershops, tortillerias... More
