Beautiful grounds and buildings with knowledgeable, passionate staff. The cafe was lovely with some yummy cakes. And I could walk my dog in the estate too. Well worth a visit. Loads of history and an interesting display in the tower of Vita Sackville-West's life.

The dahlias are just gorgeous, late roses still have their scent and the gardens are lovely. Worth going up the tower as views are magnificant. Spent ages watching pheasants in a field and a small mammal, could be a stoat , weasel was hunting nearby....More

The National Trust are here preserving and restoring the dreams of Vita Sackville-West. A true English eccentric and artist. Should be on every gardeners things to do before they are pushing their own daises and not just gardeners.

A pleasant place to wander around the gardens. I didn't walk up the tower but my husband did - very awkward in places I'm told. Good view from the top though. Some beautiful planted areas. I felt the history could have been explained better. I...More

We spent a thoroughly enjoyable three hours or so at Sissinghurst Castle Garden. It is just a beautiful, peaceful place. The garden is probably the best one we saw in two weeks of touring the England countryside; admittedly we didn't just visit gardens. Be sure...More

Well laid out with good car park and toilet facilities, especially for the disabled. Most of these beautifully laid out gardens were seeable if not fully accessible for mobility buggies and wheelchairs - but enough accessible pathways to make the visit well worthwhile. There was...More

We visited the garden in late September and was amazed at the amount of colour in the garden, very surprised. What did disappoint was the amount of roped off areas despite the gardeners not working in the area. As expected of a National Trust visit...More

We visited as we were staying in the area for the weekend, but have visited many times before. It was pouring with rain, but the staff were cheery, the gardens still had a lot of colour for September, nice little secondhand book shop and tea...More

We just love coming to Sissinghurst and every time there are so many different things to see in the gardens, changing with the seasons. Today was a lovely sunny mid September day which added to the joy, which we had never seen before, nor had...More

I think they are allowed in parts on a lead but it makes most sense to call them and ask. Nobody wishes to leave a dog in a car in this weather

I think you would have to travel by train to Staplehurst ,then get a taxi to Sissinghurst.
