This castle was recommended to us via internet research. Since we had a rental car to travel about Hungary we decided to venture over to this region. We were very happy that we did so as it turned out to be a most amazing experience! The long walk up the hill lead us to enjoy the view of the valley... More

The castle is nicely restored ( Disneyland style) by the private Hungarian investor, the only thing missing are the alligators in the moat...lol...the horse show is very entertaining and the subsequent medieval dinner with the gypsy music is just out of the ordinary. It takes a lot to satisfy me, but this time I have no complains at all.

It's a medieval castle in perfect condition, good parking conditions, easy to reach. It's worth to see the tournament, carousel, and you have a chance to try a real medieval dinner.

We visited Sumeg castle in September this year. There are so many things to do here that you should really reserve at least one whole afternoon for it. First of all, there's the castle itself. I really liked the fact that it is dotted everywhere with all sorts of games for kids. We barely convinced my son (5 years) to... More

Really admirable majestic castle on the top of a hill. It is possible to visit most part of the castle, to buy something small to eat and drink and of course some souvenirs. very pleasant visit, can advise to everyone.

Beautiful bold castle on a barren hill in an almost flat landscape. The castle is well preserved and remains almost in its original state without major changes to for example a palace, prison or otherwise. It is now operated as a tourist attraction, providing events and tournaments.

The castle itself was quite normal but the animations and shows made you really feel back in time. 1 year after the visit the kids still talk about sumeg.

Nice place thrre. You can walk/drive up to the castle but a little bit of sport does not hurt since you get typical hungarian food at the bottom. You need to see this!

The flog up to the castle is not for the faint hearted but is well rewarded. This is a small castle as they go and has been heavily restored, but as a place of interest and entertainment it is excellent. On a Saturday there were lots of things going on, the archery demonstration being a highlight. There are lots of... More
