The castle has a solid history and also has a nice nearby market for buying any souvenirs and other smaller things at a... More

Beautiful view of the river and the historical castle. One of my favorite spot I visited in Georgia. I came during winter. I want to visit again on spring and invite some of my friends to see the beauty of Georgia.

This is a UNESCO site. The fortress overlooks the scenic landscape of Jinvali Reservoir and surrounding mountains. It is usually a pit stop on the way up north to Kazbegi / Stepantsminda. Try planning the trip to this fortress on a sunny day with clear skies if you wish to snap beautiful photos.
