Clean refurbished and newly painted. Glass keeps out the pigeons and their droppings. Decent free vegetarian lunch.

The Temple is still undergoing renovation. The temple has got a deep meaningfull history, story and strong vibes. But the surrounding of the temple needs to be kept clean and maintain. Maybe short of volunteers or manpower. The Big Tree in the cage is slowly rotting away and not maintain or preserve and there is no write up about it on why it is kept there in a cage.
Many come from far away to pray and dont go away disappointed. I did my prayer at 12 noon. The Priest are Good and patient. Simple free lunch is given. This Temple has got great Potential if the premises are maintain and manage well. Its a Famous and well renowned temple that deserves more attention and care! its sad to see this in this state now.
Renovation or not, cleanliness of the Temple still got to be maintained as its a Divine Place.

Last visited ten years ago. very bad state of affairs now . lots of renovation works maybe due to the recent floods . hardly 3 people working . Temple as such needs lots to do. All the Deities now moved to an annexe shack. . The priest is a so troubled and no smile. After the 12 o'clock puja attended by about 100 odd devotees, went for free lunch . The most pathetic vegetarian i ever had. self serve. rice ,sambar and brinjal potato curry. That's all . No papadam,no pickles, no tairu , Basic at its best .

Maran is a famous temple but if you treat your devotees poorly ........ Maran will loose its Magic.

Do remember there are so many Murugan Temples in Ipoh .

I have been visiting this temple for the past 30 years. On my last visit i was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the temple and the surrounding. There are thousands of pigeons and their droppings are everywhere.
Solution:
1. Stop feeding them
2.Bird repellent gel
3.Bird repellent and spikes, Anti pigeon nail deterrent.
4. Feed them with Oral contraceptive tablets. This will reduce their population.

Thank you

Very beautiful shrine in a serine atmosphere. You can get spiritual satisfaction by visiting this temple. No restaurants / shops nearby, but lunch is served on all days
Accommodation can be availed in a few guest rooms in the premises
Very few people visit in week days but crowded during week ends and school holidays.

This temple narrates a 120 years of hidden history and I was mesmerized from its formation and existence since then. I was hospitalized in 2014 and my mother prays for my recovery and would pays vows for it and it came true. So we've visited this temple to pay the vows by carrying a pot of milk (Paal Kavadi) to Lord Marathandavar Murugan. This aalayam is very famous and remarkable for its Panguni Uthiram festival in April/May. Ample parking surroundings thevl temple and they do provide daily lunch for devotees. However, the temple committees need to consider on sprucing up the building for a grandeur look.

We happened on this temple by chance on the way from Kuala Tahan to Cherating Beach. It is a quite impressive circular building with polished, I think, marble floors and large airy open spaces supported by many columns. There is a large tree growing in and up through the structure with yellow wishes tied to it. Though it has carvings and decorative work this temple uses mostly shades of yellow or gold on all the surfaces giving it a unifying look. We visited around 1:30pm on a Monday and there were only a few people around. We couldn’t find any information in English so it remains a bit of a mystery to us
